Sparks from the grate
Mark the skip: a check for the thing you didn’t do
A leave is not an empty square. Skipped a smoke, skipped a drink — the check is the replacement, and the replacement is the flame.

Spoken here — nothing leaves this device.
The mind keeps a ledger of the vice. Kindling keeps a ledger of the leave. “Didn’t smoke” is a shadow. “Skipped a smoke” is a check — a yes you can see. You are not tracking the old fire. You are lighting a new one in the same hour.
The Body pack is already this language: skipped a drink, skipped a smoke, skipped fast food. Named as a pass, never as a scold. That is not a trick. That is how identity votes: I am someone who skipped it. The square lights because you did a thing, not because you failed to do another.
Put a yes where the no used to sit
Replacement is the next twig. After the skip, a glass of water. After the skip, once around the block. After the skip, a kind text. If you only mark the leave and leave the hour empty, the old cue still owns the room. Move a glass to the hook. Move shoes to the door. The body finds a new coal.
“I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies.”
Missed days do not un-vote the skips you already cast. A C on this habit still kindles. You are the bellows. The skip is the spark. The replacement is how it stays lit.
