How Kindling caught

In 2020 I was an entrepreneur in Miami, running an agency and the other companies I had founded. The companies had fire. I did not. I poorly managed the one life I could not hand to anyone else — my own. The calendar was full. The boxes that mattered were not. My embers were cold. There is an old line: “You cannot give what you do not possess.” I had little flame to give my kids, my wife, or the men I would later coach. The gym became my bellows. Meditation, prayer, and mindfulness were the air I fed it. Kindling started as the honesty I owed my own mind: check only what I did.

That small applause — a true mark, not a hoped-for one — taught me I could lose seventy pounds, get physically strong, and lead by quiet modeling for my kids and my family. The virtue is not the streak. The virtue is the honest check.
