Move sections
Calendar, Today, Streaks, Quote, Ember Notes, and Focus can trade places.
- Use the up and down arrows on a section heading to move it.
- First visit puts the calendar on top with Streaks beside it, then Today with the quote and Ember Notes. The chips at the top jump to each one.
- The chips follow the order you set. A wide card next to a slim one shares the row.
Today’s habits
Name, color, days, time — all from the three dots.
- Tap the colored square to check a habit off for today.
- Tap the habit name — not the checkbox — to open its streak and report card.
- Open the three dots to edit, move, or delete.
- Edit picks Every day, Weekdays, Weekends, or Custom days.
- Habits not due today sit under Not today so you can still edit them.
- Optional time plus Gentle alerts gives a chime.
Keep this list
A Kindling backup is habits and checks in a file on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Tap Save backup, then Save. The file lands in Downloads or Files as Kindling-backup. It stays on this device.
- Tap Restore backup. The picker opens that same folder. Choose the Kindling-backup file — only a file Kindling saved will load.
- Clearing browser or app data wipes the list. Kindling cannot warn you first. Save a backup before you wipe.
- A pack link is not a backup. Checks stay off public URLs. After a wipe, Restore puts the list back; quotes and packs on the site stay.
- Send to another device opens this phone’s share sheet — AirDrop, Messages, or Files. Kindling never uploads the file. Restore it on the other device.
Calendar
The week or the month, one row per habit. Circles keep the count. A full set lights the screen.
- Tap a past or today cell to mark or unmark that day.
- The circles count check-ins for this week or month, and lifetime. They follow every box on the calendar you can still tap.
- Fill every check in the week or month you’re in and the wick kindles — embers rise and the screen lights up.
- Under the checks: This week, This month, or All time. Each asks first so a tap cannot wipe by accident.
- Tap the habit name to open that row’s streaks card. The scorecard follows whichever week or month you are viewing.
- Future days and off days stay quiet. Weekend habits light up on Saturday and Sunday.
- The three dots beside the name edit the habit on a phone too.
Scorecard
Each habit has its own streaks and grades. Pick a name in Streaks to rotate.
- In Streaks, open the large name to switch habits or see all of them. You can still tap a name in Today or the calendar.
- Tap a habit name in the list — not the checkbox — if you would rather switch from there.
- C, B, and A follow the days that habit is on. Two weekend checks: one is B, both is A. Flip the calendar to last week to see that week’s card and share it if you missed the moment.
- Streaks and the report card follow the week or month on the calendar. Flip back to last week to see those scores, and share a card you missed.
Quote of the day
One line a day. Browse the year when you want more.
- Arrows step one quote. The 7 buttons jump a week.
- Type a number or drag the slider to a day of the year.
- Share graphic makes a card for that quote. Browse all 365 from the archive.
Ember Notes
A short coal for the day — how a habit catches, without the scold.
- One note sits here. Arrows step the grate; Today’s ember returns to this day’s coal.
- The picture and View note open the full ember. They do not count on your streaks.
- All Ember Notes is the shelf — scorecards, tiny bark, a quiet cue.
Focus puzzles
A quiet minute. They do not count on your streaks.
- Ember is three scrambled words a day — body, soul, and spirit. Wick fills a blank in the quote; arrows step to other days. Pairs is a memory match that shuffles a new set each round.
- Done marks Ember when all three words are kindled, and Wick for today’s quote. Pairs keeps a best-move count. None of them count on your streaks.
- On Ember, a first-letter hint comes at two tries. On Wick, the droplets soak the wick — a peek at the full quote.
Spark
Pre-made words and pictures for posts, articles, and friends lighting the same fire.
- Spark is the press kit. Copy approved text with mykindling.app already in the line.
- Save 16:9 covers, 9:16 stories, reels, product stills, wordmarks, and the wick. Ready to post — no crop hunt.
- Please name it Kindling and use the real domain. Do not redraw the wick.
- Open Spark from the footer, next to Tips. Download what you need; nothing is tracked.
