What is Kindling?

Kindling is a free daily habit tracker at mykindling.app. You name the habits you want to keep, check them off, and the week lights itself. It includes timed reminders, a streak calendar, report-card grades, 365 daily quotes on habit and discipline, shareable habit lists, and three quiet Focus puzzles. There is no account. Your list stays on this device.

Yes. Kindling is free. There is nothing to subscribe to and no in-app store.

Do I need an account to use Kindling?

Accepted Answer

No. Kindling does not create an account and does not ask you to sign in. Open mykindling.app and start.

Where does Kindling store my habits?

Accepted Answer

On this device, in the browser. Kindling does not keep a server of your list, check-ins, or puzzle scores. Clearing the site’s data clears that copy. Another phone starts blank unless you bring a list over yourself.

How does Kindling count kindlers?

Accepted Answer

The bottom of Kindling shows a public flame tally. It starts from 100 kindlers, 500 habits, and 1,000 embers. Each device that opens Kindling sends a random token stored in that browser, plus two numbers: how many habits are on the list, and how many checks are marked. No names, no streaks, no account. The counts grow from those pulses.

Does Kindling work in Spanish?

Yes. The site is available in English and Español. Open Settings and choose a language. Kindling also picks Spanish on first visit when the browser language starts with es. Product names stay Kindling, Ember, Wick, and Pairs. The 365 daily quotes stay in their original English.

Are Kindling’s daily quotes translated into Spanish?

No. Quotes stay in the original English so the line is the one the author wrote. Buttons, settings, help, and the rest of the site can be Spanish.

Kindling keeps 365 quotes on habit, discipline, and showing up — Aristotle, James Clear, Maya Angelou, Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Confucius, and other figures people still quote. One is surfaced each day. Browse the year at mykindling.app/quotes.

Can I install Kindling on my phone?

Yes. Kindling is a web app you can add to the Home Screen (iPhone: Share, then Add to Home Screen; Android: browser menu, Add to Home Screen). It works as a small installed app with its own icon.

Question 10

How do Kindling grades work?

Accepted Answer

The report card lights C (Passing) at 70%, B (Strong) at 80%, and A (Kindled) at 90% of scheduled checks. A week needs at least 3 scheduled checks; a month needs 8. Lit marks can be shared as a story card.

Can I share my habit list?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Share a QR or link to your list, or start from a starter pack on mykindling.app/lists (Morning, Spirit, Body, Kindness, Gym, Health, Home, Mind, Kids, Pills, Study, Pets, and more). Sift by Daily, Health, Fitness, Spirit, Chores, Education, or Mind. A friend chooses what to add. Matching names can update. Streaks never copy. Checkmarks stay on each device.

Kindling starter lists are free habit packs you add on this device: Spirit (chose faith, prayed, devotions, showed gratitude, expressed love), Body (skipped a drink, skipped a smoke, skipped fast food, drank water, walked a little), Kindness (smiled today, helped a stranger, paid it forward, sent a kind word, wrote a thank-you), plus Morning, Desk, Evening, Gym, and others.
